Robinhood Buys Personalized Trading App Pluto

Disruptive financial trading app Robinhood has announced the acquisition of AI-powered investment research platform Pluto Capital, which combines global markets data with analysis of customers' needs and financial goals to provide highly customized investment stratgies.

California-based Robinhood Markets, Inc. was formed with the ambition of 'giving everyone - not just the wealthy - access to financial markets', with low entry costs, clarity around trading charges, and online courses to educate smaller investors as required. The firm says the acquisition of Pluto means investors 'can look forward to a new era of intelligent, data-driven investing'.

Pluto provides users with easy access to real-time data including news articles, stock prices, company report cards, company financials and SEC filings. The firm, which was founded in 2021 and raised around $4m in multiple seed funding rounds, applies LLM-based software to analyse personal and global financial data in real time, promising users faster identification of trends and opportunities. The firm's personalized recommendations are based on analysis of assessments of an individual trader in terms of risk tolerance, investment goals and historical behavior.
