First Female Chair for Canada's CRIC

Canadian research association CRIC has announced a new Chair for its Board - Narrative Research CEO and Partner Margaret Brigley replaces Nik Nanos, and will serve for a two-year term. Meanwhile Sam Pisani, Managing Partner at the Logit Group, joins the executive committee as Vice Chair.

Margaret BrigleyCRIC (The Canadian Research Insights Council) represents the research, analytics and insight sectors in the country, promoting standards and best practice, promoting the profession and providing advocacy, and serving as a forum for collective industry action. Members include the country's biggest agencies as well as client organizations, academic institutions and other partners.

Brigley has served on the Board since 2019, shortly after the association was established, and becomes the first women to chair CRIC. She brings decades of leadership and research experience. Jason Zweig, Managing Partner and Vice President at Canadian Viewpoint, will continue in his role as Treasurer, while Anastasia Arabia, Diana Lucaci and Sam Pisani were all also appointed for a new three-year term on the board, following a call for nominations issued in May.

Nanos, who is Chief Data Scientist and founder of Nanos Research, has held the role since August 2022, in which time CRIC has launched its AI Committee, signed an agreement with the MRIA to unify the industry in Canada, held two successful national conferences, and grown its membership base. Nanos will continue to serve on the Board and Executive Committee as Past Chair, and Brigley comments: 'I thank Nik for his exceptional leadership that has enabled CRIC to continue to grow in size and influence over the past two years. I am eager to collaborate with the Board to advance CRIC's role in helping members provide the quality insights that help businesses, governments, and not-for-profit organizations achieve their goals'.

Members of the Board not mentioned above are Stephanie Brown, Jessica Gibson, Jean-Marc Léger, Cynthia Pachovski, Rob Berger and Michael Williams.
