ISG to Add Oil and Gas Coverage to Provider Lens

In the US, tech research and advisory firm Information Services Group (ISG) is to launch a study of digital transformation providers for the oil and gas industry, as part of its Provider Lens series.

The company was founded in 2006 by former Nielsen / VNU exec Michael P. Connors and currently employs around 1,600 professionals operating in more than twenty countries. The ISG Provider Lens Quadrant series combines empirical, data-driven research and market analysis with the real-world experience and observations of the group's global advisory team. The series currently covers providers offering their services globally, across Europe, as well as in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the UK, Australia, Singapore/Malaysia, and around a dozen nations of continental Europe, with additional markets to be added in the future. Earlier Provider Lens launches have covered SAP providers, the Digital Business SaaS market and remote working services.

A series of Oil and Gas Industry - Services and Solutions Provider Lens reports is scheduled to be released from December, and will include two regional reports, for North America and Europe. The reports will assess four quadrants: Enterprise Asset Management, Next-Gen IT/OT Services, Data Management and Cloud Computing, and Energy Transition Services.

The firm says developments like IOT and AI technology are poised to impact the sector in the next couple of years, optimizing production processes, improving equipment maintenance through predictive analytics and enabling remote monitoring for increased safety and efficiency. Regulation and geopolitical events also complicate the picture for execs in the sector.
