Senior Hire for M.E.L Research

In Birmingham, UK, full service social research agency M.E.L Research has appointed Dr Kathy Seymour as Research Manager in its Qualitative team.

Dr Kathy SeymourThe company aims to provide actionable insight allowing its clients to deliver better public services in a range of areas from health and wellbeing, housing and transport to waste, arts & culture, and community resilience. In the past year it has strengthened its Evaluation practice with the additions of Skye Curtis as Head of Evaluation and Dr. Holly Taylor-Dunn as Senior Evaluation Lead.

Seymour brings more than two decades of experience in educational, social and healthcare research, having run her own boutique research and evaluation consultancy, Director of Seymour Research Ltd, since 2011 and previously worked for the University of Nottingham, the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), and two local authorities. She holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham's School of Education, a master's degree in research methods and a first degree in social policy. Working with methods from survey research to ethnography, documentary analyses and secondary data analyses, she has led high-profile evaluations assessing the implementation and impact of programmes and initiatives, using theory of change and other evaluation approaches.
