Norstat Hires MD for UK and Ireland

European data collection company Norstat has appointed Andrew O'Connell as Managing Director for UK & Ireland.

Headquartered in Oslo, Norstat was established in 1997 and now has offices throughout the Nordic and Baltic countries, plus in Poland, Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Italy. The firm boasts four million panel members in nineteen countries, and has made seven acquisitions in the last two and a half years, including UK company Panelbase. In April, it was itself was acquired by Nordic and DACH-focused small and medium-sized business specialist Nalka Invest, in partnership with minority shareholder Kirk Kapital.

The appointment builds on the integration of Panelbase, which was completed in January this year and gives Norstat offices in London and Newcastle. Norstat says it is committed to building momentum in the UK and Irish markets, with continued growth and innovation. O'Connell (pictured) brings more than twenty years of experience in market research, including leadership positions at Research Now, SSI and most recently Dynata, where he was Managing Director of UK operations since 2019, developing existing and new clients across research, media, healthcare, corporate and consultancy clients, while effectively managing sales and operations during transitional periods.
