Acquisition Unites AI Consulting Specialists
In Paris, data and AI consulting firm Artefact has announced the acquisition of Swiss AI consultancy Effixis, for an undisclosed sum.
Artefact helps clients with data transformation and the design and deployment of AI, and was founded in 2014 by Guillaume de Roquemaurel and Vincent Luciani, previously students together at France's Ecole Polytechnique. The firm now has 23 offices worldwide and more than 1500 employees including data analysts, data scientists, software engineers, business consultants and marketing professionals. In February it opened new offices in Colombia and Mexico following rapid expansion in Brazil.
Effixis was founded in 2017 and taps the nearby Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) for talent to help clients with strategy, customized development, and prompt engineering upskilling. The firm boasts deep expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs). Its 'Prompt University' offer workshops and training courses on GenAI and AI technologies.
Artefact says the buy significantly bolsters its AI capabilities in Europe, and gives it two new offices, in Switzerland and Belgium. According to CEO Vincent Luciani (pictured), the two firms' vision and values align perfectly. He adds: 'Effixis' team of trusted AI experts, LLM engineers, and software engineers already deliver highly customized approaches, greatly enhancing our AI service offerings and providing added value to our clients'.
