Verian Appoints APAC CEO
Verian Group, previously known as Kantar Public, has appointed former Wunderman Thompson Australia Chief Exec Gavin Bain as its CEO for the APAC region, with a seat on its global executive team.
 Independent policy evidence and advisory business Kantar Public was sold in 2022 to pan-European private equity firm Trilantic Europe, and rebranded as Verian Group last autumn. A week ago it launched seven new UK centres of excellence, aligned with the new Labour government's public policy challenges, and announced promotions for fourteen staff. The group has nine offices across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Bain (pictured) spent nearly four years at Wunderman Thompson Australia, initially as MD, and before this was CEO of Meerkats, The Brand Leadership Company over a ten year period. Earlier he spent seven years as Director of Client Services at Marketforce Australia, and he began his career in the banking sector.
Global CEO Dr Michelle Harrison says the company was 'looking for someone who shares our focus on the transformative impact of technology on society and on public policy', and states: 'Gavin brings deep expertise in communications, digital and customer transformation, along with being well known for his people-based leadership style. We are very excited to start the next stage of our journey'.
