Vypr Expands to US, Plans 30 Plus Hires

Product intelligence platform Vypr, based in Manchester, UK, is expanding into the US market. The firm says as a result it expects to quadruple turnover in the next three years and create more than 30 international job opportunities, with 'many more' in the UK.

Chris WilliamsVypr's platform combines expert support with research technology, offering a mixture of qual and quant via mobile-first consumer communities. This is used to help clients with innovation, testing everything from packaging, pricing and naming to product claims and ranging, and providing insight into 'what customers want to see on the shelves'. The firm hit the headlines in 2021 when it raised £2.5m in funding and appointed former Cint exec Richard Thornton to its board. Since then the company has more than quadrupled revenues, tapping demand for consumer insights for the UK market. ESOMAR estimates that more than half the world's c. $137bn market research spend occurs in the US, with the UK a distant but solid second.

Vypr appointed Glenn Porter as Chief Commercial Officer in April, with international expansion firmly in mind, and has already launched in Australia. Existing UK and European clients with major requirements in the US include KFC, Kraft Heinz and Starbucks. Vypr CEO Chris Williams says the move is 'the inevitable next step' for the company and will 'accelerate [its] already impressive trajectory'.

The firm operates a US consumer panel offering extensive targeting capabilities, promising insights into diverse demographics, technological trends, and evolving preferences across the country, including hard-to-reach US audiences.
