Another Buy for NVivo Developer Lumivero
Lumivero, the developer of qual analysis software NVivo, has acquired ATLAS.ti, which provides a computer-assisted analysis solution for qual, quant and mixed-method research. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Denver, Colorado and with offices in Australia and Europe, Lumivero provides software for the analysis of structured and unstructured data, as well as survey research and data collaboration solutions. Last year it announced a partnership with itracks, and a month ago it announced the acquisition of Risk Decisions Limited, the developer of the Predict! suite of software.
ATLAS.ti was founded in 1993 and provides qual data and mixed media analysis software helping researchers to analyze complex phenomena hidden in unstructured data including text, images, audio and video. The solutions are used by academics as well as businesses. Lumivero says the buy will strengthen its qual analysis offerings, providing customers with a broader suite of comprehensive solutions.
Lumivero CEO Gareth Morrison says the acquisition 'will create opportunities for accelerated feature development and enhancement of SaaS offerings across [the firm's] suite of qualitative data analysis solutions'. He adds: 'We are excited about this next phase of innovation and continued growth of our QDA software and the value it will bring to our customers'.
