UserTesting Hires CSO
In San Francisco, UX research firm UserTesting has appointed Baran Erkel as Chief Strategy Officer, with a focus on corporate growth including acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
 UserTesting's experience research and insights solutions allow users to get input directly from customers, from the development stage and throughout the lifetime of products and services. They include research and consulting services, a proprietary QX Score benchmarking methodology, an experience insights hub, a proprietary contributor network, and AI and ML-driven experience insights software. The firm is owned by investor Thoma Bravo, also the parent of Medallia and J.D. Power, and is the result of the merger of video-based insight provider UserTesting and UX specialist UserZoom.
Erkel brings more than twenty years' experience in corporate strategy, M&A and strategic partnerships, and will play a key role in driving the firm's long-term strategy, expanding its market presence and accelerating innovation. The firms says acquisitions and strategic partnerships will be a focus of this. Prior to joining, Erkel was SVP of Corporate Development and Strategy at Nintex, working on the completion and integration of five acquisitions during a seven-year stay. He also worked on key partnerships and investor relations. Earlier in his career he worked in corporate development at Citrix and in technology and management consulting with Accenture. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and M.S. in Computer Networks from North Carolina State University.
