AI and Machine Learning Veteran Joins Outra as CTO
Former dunnhumby and Experian exec Lee Hepplewhite has joined UK-based data science firm Outra as Chief Technology Officer. Company founder Giles Mackay also worked at dunnhumby.
Outra was formed in 2017 by a team including former Tory party strategists Jim Messina and Lynton Crosby, and led by Mackay, the founder of property market analytics company Hometrack.
Hepplewhite joins from pioneering Tesco-owned customer data firm dunnhumby, where he was interim CTO and worked closely with the parent supermarket to further its use of Clubcard customer data for predictive modelling. Earlier he worked as CTO at Experian, lectured and led R&D efforts for Brunel University, and was a research fellow at IBM for six year focusing on topics such as machine learning, AI and robotics - as long ago as the 1990s. He has also operated freelance for the past nineteen years as SFIDA CONSULTING.
In his new role, according to www.estateagenttoday.co.uk , Hepplewhite will work alongside Mackay to lead the data, engineering and product teams, with a focus on expanding AI capabilities and supporting the business's growth across sectors including property, financial services and retail.
'Lee has extensive experience of delivering data driven solutions for large, complex organisations' says Mackay. 'His understanding of data and AI across multiple verticals will be invaluable as we continue to develop our offerings and expand into new markets'.
