Sullivan Returns to Sago as Cundiff Quits CEO Role
Reed Cundiff has stepped down as CEO of data collection and research tech company Sago, after less than two years in the role. Steve Schlesinger steps back into the CEO role, while also remaining Executive Chairman; and former President Mike Sullivan has rejoined as COO.
The company - formerly known as Schlesinger Group - offers a broad range of managed and self-serve qual and quant solutions, including recruitment and project management for any methodology, online or in-person. It operates focus group facilities in fourteen cities in the USA, three in Germany, and one each in Spain and the UK; and has offices in Toronto, Canada; Gurgaon, India; and in the Nicaraguan capital Managua.
Former Kantar Americas CEO Cundiff joined Sago in November 2022, replacing long-time leader Schlesinger (pictured below). Cundiff worked earlier in his career at Gartner, Yankee Group and Microsoft and co-founded Compete. His departure from the Sago role - and from its Board of Directors - is immediate, and the company provided no further details on reasons, but Schlesinger did wish him well for the future, stating: 'Under his leadership, the company transformed its product and service offerings and enhanced the customer experience. Thanks to Reed's dedication, Sago is more agile and innovative'.
Sullivan (pictured top) joined Sago in 2000 and was President of Schlesinger Group until 2022, handing the job to Isaac Rogers as Cundiff joined. He (Sullivan) became an Independent Director advising the Board of Directors, and now returns in the new COO role, to which he brings decades of operational expertise. Schlesinger comments: 'Mike's deep operational knowledge of Sago will be invaluable during this time of transition. We're fortunate to have him step back into the business with the same enthusiasm and drive that have always made him an exceptional leader'.
