SurveyMonkey Opens First India Office

Digital surveys and forms pioneer SurveyMonkey has opened its first office in India. The Whitefield, Bengaluru location will serve as a hub for the firm's product development, R&D and customer outreach, according to CEO Eric Johnson.

Eric JohnsonThe company already has offices in North America, Europe and Australia, but has more than 2,000 paying customers in India where four local languages are supported - Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi and Bengali. Only around 13% of surveys run in the country over the platform are in English.

With a team of more than 50 engineers, product managers and designers already in place, SurveyMonkey says it will expand to 100 people by the end of March next year - including HR, data and security - and continue hiring throughout 2025.

Johnson (pictured) told a media briefing this week: 'The first phase for us is building out a team, ensuring that the development is progressing well and the early returns have been fantastic. After that, we'll start looking hard at what India can look like as a business opportunity for us'.

The company, which has recently launched a CX solution, a new integration with PayPal, and a new suite of analysis, sharing and collaboration tools within its Genius AI environment, is online at www.surveymonkey.com .
