Funds for Data Gathering and Visualization Firm Wobby

Antwerp-based AI-powered information platform Wobby has secured EUR 1.1m in a seed funding round, allowing the company to expand into new European markets and to target the US market for the first time.

Amra Dorjbayar and Nathan TetroashviliWobby was founded in 2023 and is led by former investigative journalists Amra Dorjbayar (CEO) and Nathan Tetroashvili (CTO) - pictured above and below respectively. The firm's software collects, analyzes and reports data to speed up processes for knowledge workers, while providing full transparency as to sources throughout. Information comes from a wide range of public sources, including major statistical providers like Eurostat, World Bank, and national databases such as Statbel; and from real-time online sources including web sites and news providers.

At present, Wobby employs eight staff - primarily developers - and twelve major clients. A pilot project is running in the UK, and test users work with the platform in 72 further countries, according to www.eu-startups.com . The new funds add to EUR 300k received earlier and come from Shaping Impact Group: SI3 fund, V-Ventures and imec.istart.

CEO Dorjbayar comments: 'Knowledge workers today face an overload of information and tools, making it increasingly difficult to find credible sources and organize their work effectively. While many AI tools speed up information gathering and content creation, they also introduce additional complexity. Wobby aims to resolve this by combining all essential knowledge functions in a single platform, allowing users to access reliable insights quickly and translate them into action'. Tetroashvili says the platform can be used by professionals including journalists, researchers and business analysts, and adds: 'With this new funding round, we can accelerate our marketing efforts in Europe and begin our first commercial steps in the US. By the end of next year, we're aiming for a revenue of two million dollars'.
