Glow Partners with Sustainability Awards Org Banksia

In Melbourne, sustainability-focused research tech firm Glow has announced a partnership with The Banksia Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which showcases sustainable business leadership.

Tim CloverAgile research company Glow began development of a metric called the Social Responsibility Score (SRS) in 2021, and earlier this year announced its intention to roll it out as a standardized, cross-industry initiative, with backing already from firms including Kantar and PwC Australia. Last month it announced a further partnership with sustainability and social impact communications specialist 3BL, aiming to help businesses 'measure, maximise and monetise' their sustainability efforts.

The Banksia Foundation's awards program for sustainability leadership and innovation is now in its 36th year. The new partnership incorporates Glow's data-driven approach and will highlight sustainability leaders and provide insights into the demands of stakeholders to encourage greater investment in sustainability initiatives.

Among other features, the partnership will add a People's Choice Awards category to the annual roster, powered by Glow and enabling consumers to have a direct influence on award outcomes, recognising sustainable organisations. Glow will also collect regular data on public sustainability priorities for publication by Banksia, to help organisations align their investment strategies with stakeholder needs - and will make its database of sustainability research available to Banksia supporters, including brand benchmarks. The partners will also seek public nominations for Local Heroes of sustainability.

Banksia CEO Graz Van Egmond says of the initiative: 'Leading on sustainability in the current climate is challenging. We're thrilled to partner with Glow to produce data that can support organisations to channel more profits towards purposeful actions'. Tim Clover, his opposite number at Glow, adds: 'The Banksia Awards are Australia's longest-running and most prestigious sustainability awards. We are excited to be able to add the voice of consumers into the mix and to provide data that helps validate investments in sustainable practices'.
