New Chair and Deputy Chair for IAB Australia
Digital ad industry organisation IAB Australia has appointed Suzie Cardwell, Chief Data Officer of media network Nine as its new Chair and REA Group's Sarah Myers as Deputy Chair, replacing the previous leaders in the roles after just six months.
Cardwell succeeds Vanya Mariani, who stepped down from the IAB Board following her departure from Carsales; while Myers - who is REA's GM Audience and Marketing - replaces Seven West Media's Director of Data and Growth Andrew Brain, who retains his place on the Board.
Both the new appointees have more than twenty years' industry experience. Cardwell, who prior to Nine held leadership roles in media organisations including News Corp and Foxtel, will work closely with IAB Australia CEO, Gai Le Roy, on initiatives including ensuring responsible frameworks are in place to meet marketer, consumer and Government expectations through 2025, while also exploring new market needs and dynamics. Myers worked previously at realestate.com.au, Mortgage Choice, Domain, SMH and The Age.
The association also announced three new Board members in the persons of Dean La Rosa, General Manager, Commercial Data at News Corp Australia; Heather McGovern, Acting CMO at Domain; and Davor Vilusic, Executive General Manager Media at Carsales.
Le Roy comments: 'I would like to thank Vanya for driving a vibrant and productive era of the IAB and being such a positive force in the industry. We are incredibly lucky to have Suzie, who is an incredibly admired and respected digital advertising leader, taking the chair role. Her strategic smarts and market knowledge will be wonderfully complemented by Sarah's knowledge of marketing and audience trends and needs'.
The association is online at www.iabaustralia.com.au .
