MRBA Extends Bursaries to Help Early Career Researchers
UK-based MR industry charity the MRBA is expanding its system of bursaries to cover the MRS Foundation Course and Certificate in market research, in order to support the country's market and social researchers at the beginning of their careers.
The MRBA Skills scheme was launched in the autumn of 2018 to offer bursaries for the Society's Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research. The system includes strict criteria to ensure that only those who cannot afford the courses themselves, and whose employer does not have sufficient budget to fully pay for them, can receive Skills Funding.
For each of the two qualifications, the Association will initially offer up to twenty bursaries a year - funds will be available only to those taking both qualifications.
MRBA Chair Ginny Monk comments: 'After the success of our current Skills Bursary programme where we have funded over 30 people to sit the MRS Advanced Certificate, we are now delighted to be able to extend this to include the MRS Foundation Course and Certificate in Research. Being able to support people financially who might not otherwise enter the world of research and develop their market and social research skills is a key focus for the MRBA as we look to help more people in need'.
