Ipsos Buys Brazilian Polling Firm Ipec

Ipsos has acquired Brazilian agency Ipec, described as a major player in public and political opinion research in Brazil.

Ipec and Ipsos logosThe firm was founded in 2021 by former managers from IBOPE Inteligência, and is known for opinion polling and political analysis via qual and quant studies, off- and online. It also conducts consumer studies in the areas of brand, communication and products.

Ipsos says Ipec (Ipec Inteligência em Pesquisa e Consultoria Estratégica) has 'unique capabilities', especially in complex projects with a requirement for accurate representation of 'the diverse perspectives of Brazil's large and varied population'.

Ipsos' Global CEO Ben Page says the buy will allow the firm to expand its Public Affairs offering in Latin America and meet the growing demand from clients for high quality public opinion polling in Brazil, building on [Ipsos'] 30 years' experience in the country'. Brazil CEO Marcos Calliari adds: 'This union comes at a pivotal moment. As the market navigates a period where research and business intelligence are paramount, this collaboration offers a strategic advantage for companies, brands, and institutions seeking to understand evolving social changes and consumer trends'.

According to Ipec Chief Executive Marcia Cavallari, the new ownership will bring significant benefits to his firm's clients and employees, opening up new opportunities for growth and development.
