Pulsar Launches AI-Based Public Opinion Tracker
London-based company Pulsar has launched Narratives AI, tracking and comparing the stories emerging from billions of public postings each day and billed as 'the world's first search engine for public opinion'.
Pulsar describes its area of expertise as 'audience and narrative intelligence', suggesting that 'In an age where data abounds and attention is scarce, our behaviors are increasingly influenced by the narratives we're exposed to'. The firm promises to help clients understand, create and leverage stories for strategy, and its new product focuses on the 'undercurrents' shaping public opinion and the beliefs taking hold in society, promising to predict the behavior that will emerge.
The tool analyzes billions of posts and stories from social and news media each day, and processes both real-time and historical data. Features include 'Instant Answers', which uses an interface similar to a web search to deliver full 'Narrative Briefings' in seconds; and 'Media vs Public' Narratives, comparing stories and trends in traditional media to those emerging directly from the public.
Company founder & President Francesco D'Orazio (pictured) comments: 'While everyone obsesses over analytics on things like sentiment and topics, the real competitive edge lies in spotting and leveraging the narratives flowing through public opinion. Narratives AI combines quantitative precision with qualitative storytelling: it captures the direction of travel AND puts a number on it'.
The tool is available as a cloud-based service starting this week, with a freemium version set for launch soon.
