Vypr Gets £5m to Fuel International Growth

Manchester, UK-based product intelligence platform Vypr has raised around £5m, with which to accelerate its expansion into international markets and adjacent sectors, as well as development of its technology.

Chris WilliamsVypr's behavioural science-backed platform combines qual and quant insights derived from its mobile-first consumer communities. These help global brands - including supermarkets, food and drink brands and manufacturers - to rapidly understand changing consumer behaviour, and thereby bring successful new products to market and improve their current ranges. The company now boasts annual recurring revenue (ARR) in excess of £6 million. In the last year it has announced its expansion to new markets including Australia, the US and major European economies: the funding will help support and consolidate these moves as well as driving the launch of its next generation of software. The latter features self-service international market insights, empowering businesses to test and validate product ideas globally with 'unprecedented efficiency'.

The raise, which will also fund new AI-driven product intelligence features, includes £4m from specialist private equity firm YFM Equity Partners, which invests in high-growth businesses across the UK, and £1m from other investors and management. It brings Vypr's funding to date to £13.4m, of which just over 70% comes from YFM. Others involved in the latest round include Vypr Chairman and former CEO of UK tech plc GBG, Richard Law.

'Our partnership with YFM has been instrumental in driving Vypr's growth,' says CEO Chris Williams, 'and there is no clearer sign of potential than a major investor more than doubling its backing. With an excellent team here, a unique product roadmap, and enormous global opportunity, we can now deliver the next phase of our strategy and bring even greater value to our customers globally.' He adds: 'Our heartland is in new product development for the food and drink industry where we count household names and exciting challenger brands amongst our customers. This raise equips us to evolve our platform and push into adjacent sectors in FMCG and retail in the UK and internationally.'
