Kadence India Leader Makkar Steps Back after Two Decades
Market research group Kadence International has announced that Aman Makkar, who has led its India business for twenty years, will be stepping down from the CEO role at the end of this month.
Makkar (pictured) has worked in MR for more than four decades, initially at IMRB (now part of Kantar), where he spent seventeen years, then in a leadership role at Research Pacific India. In 2006 he helped to establish Kadence India, and he has since overseen the company's growth, client relationships, and long-term development across the Indian market.
As founding MD and then CEO, Makkar has helped establish Kadence India as a respected research and insights partner across the region. As he transitions out of the CEO role, Katsunori Shimomura will serve as Acting Country Manager, and parent company Cross Marketing Group and its leadership team will continue to support the India business - the firm says it will announced a longer-term leadership structure 'in due course'.
Makkar says he will remain connected to the industry through mentoring, advisory work, and broader industry participation. He comments: 'Building Kadence India over the past twenty years has been an incredibly meaningful part of my professional journey. I'm deeply grateful to our clients, teams, industry peers, and everyone who has been part of that journey.' Kadence International's Global MD Ramsey Yomen states: 'Aman has been a major part of Kadence India's story for more than twenty years. He has built deep relationships across the industry, with clients, and within our teams, and we thank him for the leadership and commitment he has shown throughout that time.'
