Spreetail Adds 'Brand Benchmark' Solution
In Lincoln, Nebraska, durable goods ecommerce marketplace accelerator Spreetail has launched a competitive intelligence dashboard called Brand Benchmark, available to its brand partners as part of its Smart Shelf AI-powered retail operating system.
Spreetail combines marketplace expertise, operational infrastructure, real-time performance intelligence and other proprietary technology to help clients expand their market share across 20+ channels globally including Amazon, Walmart, Target+ and TikTok Shop - while simplifying the operational complexity behind ecommerce growth.
The firm says that while Smart Shelf optimizes how a brand's own products are priced, listed, advertised and delivered, Brand Benchmark 'adds a view of everything moving around them.' The new tool scores brands across five pillars identified as driving Amazon sales: findability, conversion, price, inventory and market share. The dashboard integrates 'extensive' marketplace data with Spreetail's proprietary modeling approach - its technology continuously monitors competitor traffic, ads, promotions and pricing, and claims to separate the factors that influenced market share from those that didn't. The percentile-ranked scores are each based on more than twenty underlying metrics, and are drawn from a searchable set of the top 400,000 Amazon US brands. At present, the tool is used by Spreetail's expert merchant team to provide partners with advice on their competitive position, but a self-service version is also planned.
'Brands have insights into their own sales and profits,' suggests CTO Josh Smith (pictured), 'but they often don’t have visibility into the dozens of factors that are affecting their competitive position on Amazon. And if they did, sifting through the data to separate signals from noise would be a full-time job. 'Brand Benchmark does all that for them. It closes the gaps in their data, erases blind spots and provides insights that give them clear next steps to improve their competitive positioning. Most Amazon analytics tools hand sellers a dashboard and leave the interpretation to them. Brand Benchmark attributes a change in share to a specific competitor lever, whether that is a price cut, a new promotion or an ad push, so brands know exactly how they should react.'
