Cook Takes the Hot Seat at MRA

The USA's Marketing Research Association (MRA) has installed Jane Cook as its new President, at its Annual Conference in Chicago on June 3, 2005. Cook is Vice President, Business Strategies at Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc. in Marion, Iowa.

Cook brings over fifteen years of research experience to the position, and has been on the MRA Board since 2001. She was previously Volunteer Editor-In-Chief of the association's monthly magazine, Alert! as well as its Treasurer. She has a BA and MBA from the University of Iowa.

The new President takes a proactive and creative approach to MR which the association hopes will be ideal in helping it adapt to innovations in the profession. 'As technology changes research methods' says Cook, 'the insight and knowledge we provide is crucial to business leaders who are drowning in information and need professionals to make sense of what their customers want, need and do'.

The MRA's 2005 Annual Conference was held last week at the Downtown Marriott in Chicago, Illinois, and was attended by more than 650 research professionals. The Association is online at www.mra-net.org
