NPD Appoints Beauty President
The NPD Group, the US provider of consumer and retail information, has appointed Diane Nicholson as President of its NPD Beauty division. Nicholson will replace NPD Beauty founder, Timra Carlson, who is relocating to New England.
Nicholson has been with NPD for seven years, having launched the company's Fashion Footwear business and risen to President of NPD Fashionworld. Most recently, she has been leading NPD's Financial Services business. In addition to her time at NPD, Nicholson has spent twelve years in manufacturing and retail, including positions at R H Macy's, the May Merchandising Company and Liz Claiborne.
Carlson, who has been with the company for more than 17 years, will continue to be involved in an advisory role. 'Change is often difficult, and we will miss having Timra at the helm,' said Dennis Brown, Group President of NPD Beauty, House and Fashion. 'I am pleased that she will stay involved as NPD continues to expand its Beauty service.'
