Pollster to Advise Middle Eastern Initiative

High profile US pollster John Zogby will serve as an advisor to the Belfer Center at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. His role will include input to the Center's Governance Initiative in the Middle East, as well as advice on polling projects in China and elsewhere.

Dr. Zogby is President and CEO of polling firm Zogby International, and a highly influential figure on policymakers, with long experience of polling in the Middle East.

The Governance Initiative in the Middle East aims to 'support efforts by a new generation of leaders and scholars to define and implement good governance for the 21st Century through education, training and research' - including the establishment of a new Dubai School of Government.

Barbara Bodine, Director of the Initiative, says Zogby will help to assess 'trends, perceptions and expectations on governance in the Middle East region... It is imperative we understand what factors influence leaders, opinion-makers, and the public in the region'.

The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is online at www.belfercenter.org, where many of the results of Zogby's work will be made available.
