Research Now to Float on AIM
UK-based online fieldwork company Research Now has announced its intention to list on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), with approximately £5 million of new and existing shares. The flotation will finance Research Now's continuing growth: in the eighteen months to 30 April 2005, the company's turnover increased by an average 53% each quarter, and staff numbers grew from four to 35.
In a statement announcing the flotation, the company reported the increasing success of the online fieldwork market. Internet survey research in the US, for example, grew from approximately 9% of the total US survey research market in 2000 to an estimated 29% today. This represents a growth rate of around 30% per year for the past five years. The European online survey market lags behind with just 4% of the market share - but is experiencing a similar growth rate to that in the US, according to Research Now.
Chris Havemann, Chief Executive of Research Now, said: 'Being one of Europe's leading players in online fieldwork, we are extremely well positioned to take advantage of the industry's structural shift away from traditional face-to-face and telephone survey methods. Online fieldwork clearly has many advantages - it is often cheaper, faster and better - and in fact makes some projects feasible that simply could not be performed using traditional methods'.
