Clinical Research Expert Joins Abt Associates
Social and behavioral epidemiologist Scott Royal has joined US agency Abt Associates to help advance the company's clinical research initiatives.
Until recently, Royal managed the social and behavioural epidemiology program at the Research Triangle Institute in Washington DC. While there, he led a team that provided research to federal health agencies including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes on Health.
The new role involves leading the Abt's government clinical research practice. Royal believes this an area where 'significant business opportunities coincide with the potential to make significant contributions to the public health'.
Abt Associates Group VP Kathleen Flanagan says that Royal's experience in managing projects for government clients will 'strengthen Abt Associates' profile as it moves more broadly into government-sponsored public health research'.
The company, which works in social and economic policy, international development and business research as well as clinical trials, is online at www.abtassociates.com .
