Syndicated Sailing Study Sets Sail
Sports Marketing Surveys has launched SailTrack, a syndicated study to provide information about awareness of the fast-growing sailing market. The study will cover three regions: Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific, and the Americas.
According to SMS, sailing is fast becoming a popular and lucrative sport. The company's World Sponsorhip Monitor shows that sponsors committed more than US$230m to sailing in 2004 - a 30% increase on the previous year - on all levels from grass roots to global challenges. SMS also says the sport is reaching a much wider audience as it shifts focus from purely sailing to more 'experiential' events.
SailTrack will be based on research among sailing enthusiasts and sports fans across the three regions. The study will gather information about interest levels, knowledge of events, awareness of sponsors, and the image of sailing in general. Clients will also be able to add their own questions to gain feedback on a particular event or sponsorship.
The company, whose clients include rights holders, federations and sports goods manufacturers, is online at www.sportsmarketingsurveys.com
