First Sponsored Search Figures from Nielsen//NetRatings
Search-sponsored links to web sites comprised 34% of online ad impressions, according to Nielsen//NetRatings' new Sponsored Search Link survey, based on data for August. The new service incorporates search advertising insight into AdRelevance, the company's online ad intelligence product.
The enhancement allows clients to gain a more complete view of online marketing - allowing market share comparisons of display and sponsored link campaigns. Advertisers, agencies and marketers can access reports that enable them to identify key advertisers, locate sponsored link ad placements, define an advertiser's current online/offline media mix, and classify keywords purchased by industry or advertiser.
The new findings show that eBay placed most sponsored links, featuring more than 15,000 companies - leading to 400m sponsored link impressions - during the week ending August 21st. Shopping.com ranks second with 138 million sponsored link impressions. InterActiveCorp, MyCashNow.com and Yahoo! complete the top five, each comprising less than one percent of sponsored link impressions for the week.
