Partnership for IMS Health and SAS
IMS Health has established a global partnership with business intelligence software and services company SAS, to develop leading-edge market intelligence solutions for the pharma and healthcare industry. The first result, IMS Sales Force Effectiveness Precision Suite, is launched this week.
The new Suite combines three key capabilities - precision segmentation, promotional response and resource optimization - to help pharmaceutical decision-makers develop and implement tailored sales strategies for their customers, products and markets. Advanced analytics and data integration capabilities are supported by the SAS9 Enterprise Intelligence Platform. The Suite integrates the full breadth of IMS information assets, methodologies and expertise with key client information.
IMS President and CEO David R. Carlucci says SAS was selected for its 'world-class technology platform and analytics capabilities, as well as its commitment to helping clients solve their most critical market challenges'. Future joint offerings from IMS and SAS will support key pharmaceutical processes such as portfolio optimization, product launch and brand management.
Jim Davis, Chief Marketing Officer at SAS, says the partnership will use 'SAS' long-standing presence in pharmaceutical companies and IMS' experience and expertise' to produce offerings that will 'take our customers beyond standard decision making'. SAS Enterprise BI Server will provide the underlying technology for the joint offerings.
