Automotive Research Accelerates in Asia and Australia
Synovate has announced the launch of a new Motoresearch division in Australia, with Peter Riley as Director. Meanwhile, Global Insight Inc's Automotive Group is opening offices in Tokyo and Shanghai to expand its business across Asia.
Riley has a 'personal passion' for cars, as well as more than 20 years' automotive research experience gained in the UK and Australia. He will report jointly to Jon O'Loughlin, the company's Global Director for Motoresearch, and to Brent Steward, CEO of Synovate's recently acquired Market Equity business in Australia (www.mrweb.com/drno/news4520.htm ).
O'Loughlin hopes that Riley's expertise and depth of experience, combined with the resources of the Market Equity group, will enable Motoresearch Australia to offer a full service to clients immediately. Stewart says he is looking forward to working with Riley to 'provide a complete market research platform for automobile marketers in Australia'.
In another move announced today, Global Insight Inc's Automotive Group is to expand its presence in China and Japan. Global Insight's existing Tokyo and Shanghai offices will become the base for a range of automotive professionals, including senior market analysts, technical research analysts, consultants and sales executives.
Ulf Nord, Executive MD of the Automotive Group, says the region has 'become an increasingly important part of our overall business,' and that this expansion is a 'logical next step in our strategy to further exploit the significant growth potential offered by Asian markets'.
Dr Joseph Kasputys, Founder and CEO of Global Insight, says the new offices will allow the group to 'better serve our clients in Asia, while also keeping our clients in the rest of the world well-informed on developments in Asia'. The Automotive Group has existing operations in Boston, Detroit, New York, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan.
