CENTRIS and MBC Launch Telecoms and TV Tracker

US market analysts CENTRIS and Media Business Corp (MBC) have formed a joint venture - C+MBC - to provide tracking services to identify demand for broadband, media and entertainment services. The service aims to provide detailed information for local markets.

CENTRIS specialises in tracking household use of communications, entertainment and technology, while MBC publishes newsletters and other products for the satellite, cable and telecom industries.

The combined service offers analysis of the cable and satellite TV markets; projections of household demand for video, communication and entertainment products and services; and evaluations of VoIP, IPTV and other emerging technologies. It will provide data for local markets, including specific areas served by TV or telecoms firms.

Data is based on a specialist daily omnibus service that reaches a nationally projectable sample of 1,000+ respondents each week, and provides more than 100 consumer electronics, entertainment, telecoms and geo-demographic household measures. The new service also makes use of data from CENTRIS' omnibus survey, which uses random-digit-dialling to sample more than 60,000 households annually.

MBC founder Paul Maxwell says the opportunity to work with CENTRIS gives his company a chance to 'serve our communications clients with more mission-critical information than anyone else in the country'.
