DisplaySearch Hires Semiconductor Expert
DisplaySearch, now part of the NPD Group, has hired Henry Choy as VP of Display Electronics Research to increase its focus on TV electronics. His initial responsibilities include developing the company's new quarterly TV Electronics Report.
Choy has 19 years' experience in the semiconductor industry, having worked in marketing, business development, MR, and product development.
Most recently, he authored the Advanced Television Semiconductor Report for a competing semiconductor MR firm. He has also provided consultancy for semiconductor and investment banking companies, and held marketing and engineering positions at 3Dfx, 3Dlabs, AMD, Oak Technology, Rambus, Rendition and Yamaha.
In his new role, based in the company's San Jose, California office, Choy will be responsible for expanding the company's custom consulting services for display electronics, as well as developing the TV electronics report.
DisplaySearch Founder and President Ross Young explains the reasons for the appointment: 'Due to the impact of TV electronics on TV image quality and costs, as well as demand from the semiconductor industry and financial community for additional insight, we felt it was important to broaden our offerings to cover this exciting market.'
