eMarketer Boosts Analyst and Editorial Team
US Internet business information and analysis firm eMarketer has hired James Belcher from Find SVP and Lisa Phillips from Gartner as Senior Analysts. Mike Chapman from the Economist Intelligence Unit also joins the company as its new Editorial Director.
Chapman spent 18 years at the Economist Group: ten years as an analyst and editor in the London office, and eight years as Editor-in-Chief and Executive Producer in the company's New York-based electronic publishing division. While there, he transformed the print business of the Economist Intelligence Unit into a global, online business intelligence service. He also helped to set up a new custom research division. Chapman replaces Ezra Palmer, who recently left eMarketer to join Yahoo! News.
Belcher, who will cover international online audiences, was previously a consultant at Find/SVP, where he wrote reports on open source software, computer hardware spin-offs, network security, home networks, convergence devices and online gaming. Previously, he was a Research Manager covering electronic delivery systems at PSI Global, an MR and consulting firm for the financial services industry.
Phillips will cover online marketing and advertising trends in several industries, including consumer packaged goods, technology and pharmaceuticals. At Gartner, she helped to launch the GartnerG2 line of research, focusing on CIOs and business strategists in automotive, financial services, media and retail. Earlier, she covered advertising and marketing for Advertising Age, and has worked in editorial posts at The American Lawyer, American Demographics, and Folio.
eMarketer provides market research information related to e-business, online marketing and emerging technologies by aggregating and analysing research from more than 1,700 sources. The company is online at www.emarketer.com.
