Forrester Adds Media Expert to Board
Forrester Research has appointed publishing, marketing and technology specialist Gretchen Teichgraeber as the sixth member of its board of directors. Teichgraeber has been President and CEO of Scientific American for five years, and previously worked in marketing for the New York Times and Time, Inc.
Scientific American magazine aims to bring science and technology issues to a general audience, and Teichgraeber has been responsible for expanding the magazine in a growing number of international markets.
Previously, she worked as General Manager of Publishing and VP for Marketing and Innovation Services at CMP Media, a provider of technology news and information. Before that, she was Director of Marketing, Planning and Product Management at the New York Times. She began her career at Time, Inc., working in consumer marketing and business development.
Teichgraeber also serves on the boards of the New York Hall of Science, the Independent Magazine Advisory Group of the Magazine Publishers of America, and the Advertising Women of New York.
George Colony, chairman of the board and CEO at Forrester, describes Teichgraeber as 'one of the publishing and media industry's most highly regarded executives'. He adds that she is currently head of an organisation that is similar to Forrester: 'Both firms are forward-looking and help companies and consumers understand the impact of technology on business and society.'
