Pulse Train Delivers DP Tool
MR software provider Pulse Train has launched Data Central, a PC-based data-processing tool, designed to improve the reliability and repeatability of DP operations. The company has also announced the integration of its web-based analysis tool Pulsar Web with Rosetta Studio's reporting software.
Data Central aims to centralise the activities that take place after data has been collected and before it is reported. These include data and metadata definition and manipulation, cleaning and recoding, reformatting, weighting and exporting.
The product is built using the Microsoft .NET platform and has an open architecture that allows users to add their own functions and procedures.
Margarita Madrid, Data Central Product Manager at Pulse Train, says the new tool will allow DP professionals to 'organise their work through a self-documenting process in which the DP steps are defined as objects in a workflow, described by a flowchart'.
Integration with Rosetta Studio The integration between Pulsar Web and Rosetta Studio means users can exchange table information between the two packages via the new XtabML format.
Pulsar Web takes respondent-level data from surveys and creates summary tables and charts in a web browser. Users can now automatically translate these tables into PowerPoint or Excel reports using Rosetta Studio. Matthew Fidler, VP of Rosetta Studio International, says the new integration 'is certain to save Pulsar Web users a lot of time and money'.
