Market Probe Buys Agricultural Specialist
US customer satisfaction and loyalty study specialist Market Probe has acquired Marketing Horizons, Inc., a mid-sized agency based in St. Louis, Missouri. Market Horizons has expertise in financial, retail and healthcare industries, but is best known for being the largest supplier of custom research to the US agricultural sector.
Marketing Horizons co-founder Earl Wims retired in December 2005 after nearly 20 years. Under the acquisition deal, co-founder Robert Jasper becomes Senior VP at Market Probe and will continue to oversee day-to-day management of operations of the company, which will retain its name as a division of Market Probe. The staff of about 30, located in two St. Louis offices, will remain in place.
The transaction was initiated and led by RSM EquiCo Capital Markets. Transaction terms were not disclosed.
Market Probe President & CEO TR Rao says the companies' combined resources leave them 'well-positioned to provide custom marketing research and stakeholder management programs to agricultural markets dealing with equipment and crop sciences as well as agricultural market intermediaries.'
