FIND/SVP Name Lost in Rebrand
Customer business research specialist FIND/SVP, Inc. is changing its name to Guideline. The change reflects a shift of emphasis, integrating the secondary research in which it made its name with a growing portfolio of primary research services.
FIND/SVP has made four acquisitions over the past three years, giving it a broad portfolio of customized business research services which it groups under four key areas: On-Demand Business Research, Custom Market Research, Strategic Intelligence and Product Development Intelligence. Planning for the rebrand commenced in April 2005, immediately the last of the four acquisitions was closed.
FIND/SVP was established in 1969 offering response to on-demand business inquiries within 24 hours. Located across the street from the New York Public Library, its small team of researchers would receive client inquiries, run across the street, and cull the shelves to locate the facts and figures. The addition of online databases and its own resources has given it one of the largest private business libraries in corporate America, and 'On-Demand Business Research' still represents slightly more than a third of FIND/SVP's business. Primary research is now, however, a major element and FIND/SVP has responded to client demands for it via a combination of organic growth and acquisition.
Chairman and CEO David Walke comments: 'For more than three decades, FIND/SVP has been associated with on-demand secondary research, but now we can serve as a single source for all of corporate America's business research needs. Our new name more accurately represents our complete suite of products and services and our shift to a more integrated approach that supports the entire business through customized business research and analysis.'
The new name will be used beginning today, which includes a re-branding of all sales and marketing materials, as well as a completely redesigned web site located at www.guideline.com
