ABI Partners with Investment Advisor
US provider ABI Research has this week announced a partnership agreement with an investment advisor, Townhall Proprietary Research. ABI's analyses of emerging technology markets will be used to support Townhall's advice to institutional investors, with ABI receiving commission on the sales concerned.
While both firms produce research related to high technology industries, the focus of each is quite different. TPR, founded by financial research industry veteran James Townsend, is solely focused on producing research for institutional investors. In contrast, ABI Research provides tactical and strategic research and analysis to large technology vendors.
Townsend says the relationship 'means that we can expand the range of companies about which we can offer informed advice to our clients... Our main interest, in translating applied sciences market research into a form useful to investors, is technology, especially semiconductors and wireless technologies.'
Tim Archdeacon, founder and president of ABI Research, adds, 'Our primary client base is found among technology vendors. ABI Research does not offer financial industry research or investment advice of any kind, so TPR's wealth of contacts and depth of involvement with professional investors mean that our research will enjoy an enhanced profile in the financial community. I believe that our companies' efforts complement each other well, and I look forward to the results of their symbiosis.'
