Automotive Journalist Joins ABI
ABI Research has appointed writer and editor David Alexander as Senior Analyst, Automotive Systems. Based in the US, he will focus initially on studies of commercial and consumer hybrid vehicles, automotive radar/lidar systems, and vehicle safety systems.
Alexander worked as a writer and associate editor for three trade publications at SAE International: Automotive Engineering International, Aerospace Engineering and Off Highway Engineering magazines. Previously, he spent more than 20 years as an automotive engineer: he worked for Volvo in Sweden and the UK; for GM and Magna in the US; and a total of nearly 13 years with Ford in the UK, Germany, Australia, and the US. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the UK's Brunel University, and has been an SAE member since 1989.
ABI says that automotive systems design and implementation are rapidly evolving, with rising oil prices, environmental concerns, safety concerns and new technology including navigation systems and wireless comms just some of the many factors driving it. According to Edward Rerisi, Vice President, Research Operations: 'We are at a major inflection point in the automotive industry: it's an important time to provide our clients with coverage of this market from additional angles.'
ABI is headquartered in New York and is online at www.abiresearch.com . In addition to automotive research, its specialist areas include wireless, semiconductors, broadband, and energy markets.
