Quaestor MD Departs
Leeds-based agency Quaestor has announced that Managing Director Anne-Marie McDermott will leave the company on 30th June - Bob Bond, CEO of parent company eq, will step into the breach temporarily. In a separate development, Quaestor's Finance Director David Greenwood will also be leaving.
The company will recruit externally to fill the top post. McDermott has been with the company since its inception in 1986 and is leaving to spend more time with her young family. She says the decision was extremely difficult: 'I will miss the challenges, the stimulation and not least the people with whom I work. Professionally there is nowhere else I would rather be.'
Both McDermott and Bond stress the strength of the company and its continuing good prospects after recent growth. Internal promotions to the board leave Quaestor with 'a lot of bright, talented and dedicated people' according to McDermott. 'It is an exciting time for the company and I leave knowing it is in a secure and strong position.'
Bond comments 'Anne-Marie's shoes will be difficult to fill. In many ways she is Quaestor and much of the company's success over recent years can be attributed to her leadership and foresight. However, we have been preparing for her departure for some time and, whilst we are very sorry to see her go, we have a structure in place to ensure a smooth handover and the continuity of service levels for our clients.' He adds that 'some key changes to the business' will be announced later this year, which will 'further develop our position as an innovative, committed and experienced research company'.
Greenwood, also a long-time veteran of the company, will leave on the same date, apparently with the aim of leading a more relaxed life 'which will include walking in the Dales and supporting York City.'
