Two Appointments for Polaris
In the US, Atlanta-based Polaris Marketing Research has appointed veteran brand strategist Debra S. Semans as a Senior VP, and IT professional George Van Eron as an Operations Process and Quality Manager.
Semans will have overall responsibility for Polaris' client relationships and project satisfaction, as well as its marketing efforts and strategic alliances for project support services. Jan Carlson, President of Polaris comments: 'As a nationally known expert and frequent speaker on brand positioning, Debra can help our clients realize the full value of their investments in customer satisfaction and loyalty programs.'
Prior to joining Polaris, Semans worked as an independent marketing consultant for five years. Previous to that, she was VP in marketing-related areas for The Brand Consultancy, Carlson Wagonlit Travel, Holiday Inn Worldwide and BellSouth Corp.
Semans is a former board member of the AMA and a former member of the Marketing Advisory Council for the U.S. Census Bureau, among other positions. A frequent conference speaker and author of many articles, she holds a master's of business administration from Georgia State University and a bachelor's degree from State University of New York in Oswego, N.Y.
Van Eron's appointment is intended to advance the firm's capacity to deliver state-of-the-art reports. Specifically, he will assist with implementing a new quality management system, and conduct regular quality audits. He worked previously as a designer/programmer for Compco as well as a developer and project manager for SurfMerchants. He has a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
