SAMRA Elects New Council
SAMRA, the Southern African Marketing Research Association, welcomed in its Council for 2006/7 at its Annual General Meeting in Johannesburg this month. Markinor's Shirley Benney assumes the role of Chairman while Leonie Vorster is Chair Elect.
Both have played important roles in the association in recent times, with Benney heading up SAMRA Corporate while Vorster has been working on the development of a professional accreditation process. Benney, who has been with Markinor for 22 years, leading its IT and data processing teams before becoming MD in 2002, comments: 'Having a strong council will hopefully facilitate SAMRA achieving its goals which include influencing and enforcing research quality, promoting research careers and finalising a relevant Charter for our industry.'
