Yankee Group Buys Trendsmedia
Yankee Group Research has acquired emerging technology specialist Trendsmedia, Inc., which also produces the WiMAX World conference. Trendsmedia founder and President Eliot Weinman joins the Yankee Group Board in the new role of President of the Events & Publishing Division.
Weinman will oversee both the Trendsmedia team and its growing schedule of events and activities, as well as Yankee Group's long-standing Signature Events group. WiMAX World is the world's largest conference and tradeshow series dedicated to the emerging standard in wireless broadband and this year takes place in Boston from October 10-12.
Emily Nagle Green, Yankee Group President and CEO, says the two firms have a 'shared vision for providing enterprises with the highest quality counsel in connectivity issues'. She adds 'This is the first acquisition in Yankee Group's history, and we're very excited to welcome Trendsmedia to our team. Weinman described Yankee as 'the first industry analyst firm' and said his team were 'thrilled to permanently join forces' with it. The two have worked closely together in the past to create successful conferences on WiMAX technology.
