Veteran Marketer Joins Informa
John Polich has recently joined Informa Research Services in the USA as senior vice president and head. The company provides competitive intelligence, market research, and mystery shopping services to the financial, telecommunications, business-to-business, high technology, and consumer goods markets.
A former New York Times executive, he has run national syndicated and custom research companies in the USA and directed research in Russia, Japan, and other countries. He comes to Informa from Roy Morgan International, where he led its US operation. In the 1970s Mr Polich was pollster for the Detroit Free Press and media researcher for Market Opinion Research. As CEO of Simmons-Scarborough in the 1980s he created the first profitable newspaper research across 60 American markets. Later he was VP of CMGIs Engage and of Greenfield Online.
Explaining his move, he stated "Informa Research Services has grown revenue five-fold over the past six years, and plans to quadruple revenues over the next five years. After reviewing their plans and meeting their staff, I jumped at the opportunity to join the Informa team and be a part of the success story."
