Electronics Analysts Merge
Japanese market intelligence firm Data Garage Inc. and US-based iSuppli Corp. have announced a merger to create a worldwide specialist in analysis of the electronics industry.
Established in 1999, iSuppli provides market intelligence services for the EMS, OEM, and supplier communities, plus coverage of consumer electronics and media, and has analysts based in the Americas, Europe, Japan and Asia. Data Garage, formed just two and a half years ago by Minamikawa and Kun Soo Lee, is best known for its monthly DG Ratio service, which enjoys a high profile in Japan due to coverage in the Nikkei Newspaper, Reuters and other sources. DG Ratio provides quant analysis of sales trends in the Japanese electronic components market and predicts future industry developments. Its other services include analysis of the Japanese automotive electronics, image sensor and consumer electronics markets, and services covering M&A and the semiconductor industry.
iSuppli CEO Derek Lidow says the merger 'brings together iSuppli's elite global research operations with Data Garage's invaluable set of market-intelligence services designed to meet the unique needs of Japan's electronics industry.'
