New MD and Launches for Nebu
Research software firm Nebu has found a new UK Managing Director from a familiar source; released new versions of its panel management and web interviewing systems; and announced a partnership with Embrace mobile to facilitate mobile phone surveys using text messages.
Ian Roberts becomes UK MD, filling the gap left by Tariq Mirza who departed in September (www.mrweb.com/drno/news5882.htm ) to lead a start-up toy company. Roberts, who says he is 'looking forward to expanding the Nebu client list in the UK', was previously UK head of competitor Voxco – as was Mirza, before he joined Nebu in 2002. Nebu Managing Partner Fred Broers comments: 'We needed someone with good management skills, real commitment, integrity and an in depth knowledge of the survey software business to lead Nebu UK into its next phase of development. Ian clearly fits the bill.'
Nebu has also announced a second new release of the year for each of its panel management system, Dub Knowledge and its web interviewing system, Dub InterViewer.
The partnership with mobile survey technology firm Embrace (www.embracemobile.com ) allows questionnaire development on Dub InterViewer. This feeds into data collection via Embrace's system (announced in July – see DRNO www.mrweb.com/drno/news5585.htm ) with a variety of questions and logic allowed. Short telephone numbers (eg 86688) can be set up to receive requests for surveys from respondents, or users can be sent text messages requesting their participation in a survey: data from completed surveys is instantly available in the Nebu system, which also supports richer interface surveys via WAP on Smart Phones. According to Broers, 'With this partnership Nebu is once again the complete solution for surveys on mobile phones. Via text messages or WAP, we can provide the tools to enable researchers to get results from the right people.'
