Omnicom Buys Flamingo International
New York-based media and marketing holding group, Omnicom, has acquired UK-based qual research agency, Flamingo International. Flamingo was named Research Agency of the Year 2006 by both the MRS and Marketing Magazine.
Flamingo will sit within Omnicom's Diversified Agency Services (DAS) group of companies, which provide advertising, media planning, marketing, PR and communications services to over 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries.
Founded in 1997 by Maggie Collier and Kirsty Fuller, Flamingo has offices in London, Singapore and San Francisco, with a new office due to open in Tokyo towards the end of March. The nine members of the board have all agreed to continue under the new ownership structure, as have the boards in San Francisco and Singapore. The sale supports Flamingo's international growth plans.
Commenting on the transaction, Flamingo Group Managing Director and co-founder Collier, stated: 'Flamingo will retain the leadership style and people focus which have made it such a success. Our ability to deliver great work is dependent on our people, whom we have always sought to nurture, support and inspire. This focus on people is shared by Omnicom, one of the key reasons we are confident of future success within the group.'
