IDC Signs Up HPC Consultant
Technology researcher IDC has appointed veteran high performance computing (HPC) analyst Steve Conway as a Research Vice President in its Technical Computing Systems group.
Conway, who will report to the group's Program Vice President Dr. Earl Joseph II, has run his own marketing consultancy, Conway Communications, since 1998, and has worked closely with IDC for most of that time, on projects including co-authoring key studies and reports and helping to organize and advance the firm's HPC User Forum.
He worked previously as VP of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations for Cray Inc. and headed Corporate Communications for Cray Research and CompuServe Corporation, following a 12-year career in university teaching and administration at Boston University and Harvard. A former Senior Fulbright Fellow, he holds bachelor's and master's degrees in German from Columbia University, and a master's degree in comparative literature from Brandeis University.
'Steve is an out-of-the-box thinker who brings a wealth of HPC industry experience and expertise to his IDC role, along with a global network of relationships, especially within the user community' says Joseph.
