Illuminas Strengthens Far Eastern Team
UK-based Illuminas Global has appointed Matthew Carr as Director responsible for Asia Pacific and China, a new position created to help drive the firm's long term growth in the Far East.
Carr will be based in Hong Kong, working with Jensen Wong, APAC Regional Associate Director and other local staff, and will cover both Hong Kong and Shanghai offices in addition to taking a roving business development brief.
He worked for a number of UK agencies including Illuminas forerunner DVL Smith, before moving to Paris where he became Head of Marketing for Eurosport, the pan-european cable and satellite broadcaster.
CEO John Connaughton has known Carr for over 10 years, and comments: '[Matthew's] agency and client side experience make him ideally placed to deliver added value research that will help clients make critical decisions. We plan to develop further these operations to enhance our global reach in the APAC region.'
